DEATH NOT TAXES
This book, as you are beginning to suspect, might be more than a page or two because the following seems to be true. Gods POV regarding death cannot be fully be understood without defining, heaven, hell, dying to self, and without understanding all the other various ways God uses death as warning, encouragement, a doorway, and metaphor, etc, etc. We will not have taken advantage of all there is to know and understand if we don’t understand death or dying in the many, various, contexts we find it.
I think the numerous verse’s that talk about “life to death”, “death swallowed up in life”, “loose your life to save it”, “death where is thy victory”, etc. etc., strongly suggest that there is, or should be, a very present and continuous interrelationship of some kind, between life and death now, and that marvelous transition we are to experience in the future. In case you didn’t catch it, I said that a better understanding of death will aid us BOTH NOW and IN THE FUTURE.
I also hope you understand that I am suggesting that “Death” is a vast topic. The verses I alluded to, just above, suggest just that. Biblical authors use the word death to refer to an event, a process, an attitude, and they even refer to death as a non-issue. (If death just referred to a singular, unconnected, event, at an instant in time, then any book written would not be very long, or very complicated.)
Yes, people have been writing about this fearful prospect of ceasing to live, since time began. Papers and books from those only guessing, or playing “what-if”, are not helpful. Anyone writing without real understanding and knowledge should just write a page or two to tell others that they really don’t have anything inspired, or even accurate, to say.
The Bible contains an inspired message (delivered by faithful men) to us regarding what God wants us to know. That source is the only reason I have anything to say. I can make definitive statements because God does have quite a few specific things to say, regarding physical death, spiritual death, and regarding all the other ways He uses that word to convey what He wants us to understand.
I ASSURE YOU, THIS DISCUSSION WILL NOT BE LIKE ANYTHING YOU EXPECT!
